You watch the words change for someone else

I'm not sure how it is where you live, but here in Ontario, grocery stores here now charge for plastic bags.  Which is great, anything to deter people from using plastic bags and in turn reduce waste!  But I never got around to making myself some spiffy ones of my own, and instead just bought a bunch of the grocery store variety.  Now, I'm all for grocery store brands (delicious food at reasonable prices?  I'm in!),  but I can't say I'm a huge fan of their grocery bags.  Besides, I use them all the time, carrying fabric to and from school, toting my embroidery and knitting in and such.
But lately I've been feeling like a walking advertisement for the brand when I'm carrying them with me.
So yesterday when I got home from the grocery store carrying these bags, I pulled out some of the beautiful bits of quilting fabric that I have collected; pieces that I love the designs of but know I won't use because I generally don't like the weight of the fabric.
I just cut them into squares, stitched it onto some interfacing, ironed the edges in, and sewed them onto the bags!  So easy, and they're so fun now!
Someday, though, I do really want to knit up this Market bag.  And make this amazing grocery bag from a t-shirt.

These are great smart idea to cover the branding/not so pretty labels-
what kills me though is when people carry a reusable bag but insist on getting the plastic bag then show it into the reusable one!
ahh drives me crazy!

Beautiful!
I despise branding on things; good for you for covering it up. I read that the average person is exposed to over 3000 advertising messages, so anything done to decrease that number is positive. Not to mention that youre using cloth bags, good work on that to!

Those bags are so cute! I'd much rather have those than brand ones.
